Dr. Alan Carr directs the Dean of Faculty Concert Series, teaches low brass, and manages the applied music program at Bates College. Previously, he was on the music faculty at Concordia University Wisconsin.  Alan has performed with the Alabama, Baltimore, Dubuque, and Hartford Symphony Orchestras, the American Brass Quintet, the Isthmus Brass Ensemble, the King’s Brass, and Ensemble ACJW of Carnegie Hall. In June 2016, Alan will perform at the International Trombone Festival at Juilliard. Since 2015, he has participated in the Southeast Trombone Symposium Professors Trombone Choir, comprised of trombone artist-faculty from across the country. In addition to his work at Bates, Alan is a founding member of the Sequenza Trombone Quartet. He is a graduate of the Peabody Conservatory, The Juilliard School, Yale University, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He can be heard on the Summit, Albany and Naxos record labels and is an Edwards Instrument performing artist.
